That Thing
The first Fugees record came out in 1993. It was called Blunted On Reality, and it featured Lauryn Hill in stunning form as an MC; flexing better even (in my opinion) than she flexed on The Score, and much much better than the clumsy, arrhythmic jumble of words that passed for rapping in solo hits like “Doo Wop (That Thing).”
