Qu'est-ce Que J D?
Here’s the download link for the single of “Bring Your Girlfriend To Rap Day!”
The cover art is one of Shane Watt’s semi-fictional maps. (I think this one is full fiction.)
I come from an era when a “single” was a dope 12”, or even a CD-5 (we are glossing over cassingles, yes we are), and it wasn’t just one track unless it was a bullshit movie soundtrack one-off or the label hated you or something.  I expect frills!  I have passed up some of my favourite songs on 12” for not having an instrumental at LEAST.  I have also picked up some real crap because it had an a capella.
I hope you all feel the same as I do, because the single consists of the following tracks:
“Bring Your Girlfriend To Rap Day” (album version)
“Bring Your Girlfriend To Rap Day” (Double Ice Backfire remix)
“Bring Your Girlfriend To Rap Day” (album instrumental)
“Bring Your Girlfriend To Rap Day” (Double Ice Backfire chipstrumental)
“Bring Your Girlfriend To Rap Day” (scratchapella)
Oh no!  Look out!  Just when you were getting used to your new favourite song, someone went and remixed it??  Shael Riley and Ty Guenly of chip-pop combo the Double Ice Backfire ran me and Audra through a couple old Nintendos and we came out a little different after.
And yeah, the a capella (with Bad DJ Budget Cut’s remedial-but-fly cuts still intact) is included for your own remixing pleasure at home.  Mash it up, flip it, rub it down.
The download is free if you want, but the option exists to fling cash my way if you think you’d like to see me continue rapping, eating, and living indoors.
Oh and a high-res file of the video is included, too!
So go nuts with that, please!

Shooting a video for “Bring Your Girlfriend To Rap Day” this weekend in Toronto!

Posting this old video because I wondered if Wilbert knew there was a moving version of the first photo he posted of me at BearMythology!

Jeff Ngan at Equivocality shot the video, and all those promo photos with the boom box and such.  Sorry for the badly de-tuned uke!
